Family and Friends Day

Each semester, CSG will hold a Parent/Special Adult Day to share a taste of the CSG experience with students’ supporters. Students will take a strong leadership role during the weekend, introducing their classes and projects, giving tours of the campus and assisting teachers in planning experiential activities to highlight the unique learning opportunities at CSG.  Friends and Family Day is reserved for the friends and family of current CSG students.

Exhibitions of Learning and Celebration Reception

Friday, May 31, 2013

Exhibitions of Learning are student led presentations held on the last full day of the semester in front of a public audience of faculty, parents, sending school personnel, CSG board members, and guests from the community.  Designed to showcase students' learning and achievements during the semester, Exhibitions feature work from each of the academic program areas at CSG.  Core Academics are featured in our Student Gallery, as visual display highlighting student work in Humanities, World languages, and Mathematics.  Our Science Exhibitions are a symposium style event in which student teams present the results of their original research conducted in the Coastal Marine Ecosystems class, supported with posters and a PowerPoint slideshow.  The final Exhibition is the Semester Reflection, a family-only capstone presentation in which each student shares her reflections and insights on leadership, and on her learning and growth during the entire semester.

Following the Exhibitions of Learning, CSG invites the public to join us in a Celebration Reception as we honor the CSG students and their successful completion of the semester.  See highlights of student work, hear remarks from the CSG team, and enjoy light refreshments as you mingle with the CSG community.

Please join us on Friday, May 31 as we celebrate and share in the learning of our Spring 2013 class.  Timing and location to be determined.  For more information or to RSVP, please contact Becca at info@coastalstudiesforgirls.org or 207-865-9700 .

Graduation

Graduation from a CSG semester is a significant event, and we sincerely hope that every student can have a parent or special adult attend. One component of graduation involves public recognition of a students’ growth and accomplishments, highlighted during each student’s Semester Reflection presentation, and followed by a Celebration Dinner. The other component of graduation is just for the CSG community. Our CSG Closing Circle is a time for students to voice final reflections and thoughts, to honor one another and the community, and to bring closure to their semester experience.  Graduation is reserved for friends and family of current CSG students.
