Maine Girls' Academy, a progressive independent day school for girls in grades 7 to 12 in Portland, Maine, will integrate the Coastal Studies for Girls experiential place-based curriculum allowing the best of CSG to thrive and allowing more girls to experience the powerful combination of science and leadership education.
Although CSG will no longer operate a semester school and summer camp, CSG is excited to offer Maine Girls Academy students the platform through which CSG Alums have developed deep understanding of coastal and marine ecology and community/cultural identity while building the leadership skills needed to chart a purposeful joyful life.
Students interested in attending a semester school for sophomore or junior year should visit the Semester Schools Network. Maine Girls Academy will be running summer camps for girls.
Since Semester 1 opened in 2010, Coastal Studies for Girls has been based out of a property that was part of the original gift of Wolfe’s Neck Farm. With the CSG curriculum transfer to MGA, these facilities will be returned to the recently renamed Wolfe’s Neck Center for Agriculture and the Environment, where they will be used to support their work.
